Evaluation of Corrosion Protection Performance of New Polymer Composite Coatings on Carbon Steel in Acid Medium by Electrodeposition Methods

In this research, electrodeposition procedure was utilized for the synthesis of a new composite polymer: N-methylpyrrole–Triton–X100/N, N,N-diethylaniline (NMPY-TRX100/NNDEA) used as coating on carbon steel type OL 37 electrode corrosion protection. The surfactant Triton–X100, dopant ion throughout process electropolymerization, had significant impact protection by impeding penetration corrosive ions. PNMPY-TRX100/PNNDEA coatings were successfully realized OL37 substrate galvanostatic method using solutions 0.1 M NNDEA, MPY, 0.03 TRX-100, and 0.3 H2C2O4, at varied current densities (3 mA/cm2, 5 mA/cm2 8 mA/cm2) in different molar ratios (1:1, 1:5, 3:2 5:1). deposition performed 20 30 min. polymeric characterized electrochemically, spectroscopically, morphologically cyclic voltammetry, Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy, scanning electron microscopy methods. Corrosion performance PNMPY-TRX100/PNNDEA-coated examined through potentiostatic potentiodynamic polarization, open circuit potential measurements, electrochemical impedance spectroscopy procedures 0.5 H2SO4 media. rate PNPMPY-TRX100/PNNDEA-coated denoted to be around nine times less than that an uncoated electrode. yield more 90%. best effectiveness PNMPY-TRX-100/PNNDEA density applied 5:1 3:2, ratio 5:1. outcomes experiments revealed provide good anticorrosion solutions.
